Day 3: What are your top 3 pet peeves?
Interesting…does anyone just have three? Or am I a rare case where I have way too many? Either way, I thought long and hard about these and rather than going on about how internally grumbled I get over the small stuff, I’ll get right to it.
- Repetition. I do not like to be told the same stories over and over and over again. Or the “let me show you how to do this even though I know you know how to do this,” nonsense. It’s a waste of time! I have a few people in my life who are guilty of this but I love them despite it. 😉
- Being ignored. Oh, this one irks me to MY CORE. Whether it’s via text, email, direct message on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc., I just… do not want. I run the gamut of emotions whenever this happens – did I do something, did something happen, are they alright – and it goes on from there. I know I’m not exactly free from doing this to others, but I almost always try to get back as soon as I’m able to. Common social media decency, folks!
- Incompetency. Andrew brought this one to my attention and though I was originally intending to go for the typical traffic kerfuffle or rude customers in a checkout line, this one is more impactful. Whenever I’m on a photography job or any job I’ve had in the past – just general working with other people, really – I’m mentally and emotionally incapable of people who don’t tow the line. Do your part, do it well and all is fair. If you waste time, waste *my *time and money, it’s almost certain that I’ll never work with you again. My job at a part time childcare center was abhorrent and I **hated **it deeply, probably for this reason above all others. Just do the work!
